The spiritual life is not a life before, after, or beyond our everyday existence.
No, the spiritual life can only be real when it is lived in the midst of the pains and joys of the here and now.

Whose Spirituality Are You Living?
And is it time for a change?
Like many people, my inherited religion failed me in such a way that I walked away in my 20s, thinking I didn't need church, God, or anything to do with religion.
Ten years later, I discovered that I was right and wrong. I might not need religion, but boy did I need something beyond myself, beyond my daily routine, beyond my pains and struggles.
I knew the God of old wouldn't work for me, and so I set out to find some kind of teaching that would "save" me. And through trial and error, I found it.
Or rather, them.
Sure, it would have been nice to find THE practice, THE teaching, THE way to a better life.

Welcome to The Spiritual Playhouse--a place to explore different ways to live a spiritual life that work for you.
Instead, I found the joy of trial and error. Of experimenting with various ideas and practices to discover what actually made a difference in the life I was living.
One thing my adopted practices and beliefs all had in common was that they supported me in my everyday life -- in the raising of my child, in the endings and beginnings of relationships, in finding the peace of forgiveness and the joy of the routine.
I also discovered that creating and living a spiritual life that worked for me could be fun and empowering. All I had to do was:
Stay curious
Act from the energy of experimentation
and
Ask questions like
Why not? What do I have to lose?
If these questions resonate with you, then I hope you'll explore my latest blog below on what living the spiritual life looks like in real life and what you can do to transform your life.
And if you're interested in individual support as you navigate your own spiritual journey, consider the difference that working with a Certified Spiritual Companion can make.
